My Weight Loss Story

Hi Guys. (This is my last 'weight' post for a while)

After my ‘epiphany’ last week about eating past my hunger, I decided to film ‘My Weight loss Story’ after it had been requested. It went up last night and the feedback has been brilliant. I wanted to share my story to help and inspire others, it’s not an epic amount as there are people in my group that have lost nearly 5 stone! But nonetheless I wanted to help.

I explain things better in my video so I don’t want to waffle to much again here. I basically got ‘fat’ during 6th form as I was eating TV dinners in my lunch as I was getting home early and didn’t know how to cook ( I blame my mum for me being fat LOL) either way it happened and I can’t change that. I got bigger at university with living with boys with manly appetites where I followed suit. Followed by getting a job in an office of Doughnut obsessives!

I've lost half a stone here and there over the years from calories counting but I always gained it back.

I joined Slimming World last year after Hip Surgery as I didn’t want to sit on my arse eating rubbish for 6 weeks. After hearing the plan I lost 3.5lbs in my first week, I was amazed as I ate so much I actually thought I’d gain!

And that is when my life changed. I've charted below my weight loss from group and as you can see except for the odd one week (and the dreaded Xmas) I was/am pretty consistent, which is the best way!

I am now at a healthy BMI of 21.75, going from 27.1. Results speak for themselves!

Have any of you tried Slimming World or any other weight loss club? Or even just tried it on your own? What are your tips?

  4. Well done as its not easy, I did WW about a year ago as my baby weight did not want to come off and I was still 3 stone over weight when my son turned one!!

I think with me it was huge portions because I felt that I had to keep eating until I felt really really full. Now I know its ok to not have to feel completely stuffed after every meal.

  7. Whatever size you are in, you are still beautiful, but I guess it is always better to feel healthy and pretty at the same time. Losing weight is something we all should be proud of. Yes, it’s hard to stay away from our favorite kinds of food, but its effect will always be priceless. I know a lot of your readers are now starting to think of ways on how they can achieve a healthier body just like yours.

  9. You are such an inspiration, Laura. Your personality and mindset towards dieting played a big role to achieve what you have right now: a healthier you. Anyway, one efficient tip in dieting is to set realistic goals to keep you from being dismayed or excessively expectant.
