Mother’s Day Gift Guide

So Mother’s day is fast approaching (Sunday 30th to be exact) so I have put together a few ideas I have been pondering about. We always take mum out for a roast dinner on mother’s day but it’s always nice to get them something to keep. Here are a few ideas to provide inspiration, I’ve tried picking one or two things from different categories like beauty, accessories, home accessories and always a perfume.

My picks:

These freshwater pearls speak ‘mother’ to me, these are so simple and classic. I love how you can personalise them too with an initial and it comes with 2 charms.

Ok I kind of just want this palette for myself lol. My mum is not experimental with makeup but she does wear it. I know she is a neutrals lover and would love this palette as it will take her from day to night plus it’s just so sophisticated and oozes quality. Gorgeous.

Every few years I buy my mum a new handbag as quite frankly hers need an update (or a bin). I love the colours of this tote, very neutral, not too bold but light colours ready for spring. It’s also big enough to fit all her crap in. Bargain too! (this I also want)

I love this simple little makeup bag, what a lovely little message too to make your mum feel special every day. Simple, sweet and effective.

Perfumes are an easy present  but a highly appreciated one. It is hard to buy for someone else but usually you know the kind of scents your mum likes. This perfume is just yum, like seriously in my top 2 favourite perfumes that I own (Lancôme Le Vie est Belle is my No1 but I got her that for Christmas).  With notes of blackcurrant, pink pepper, Turkish rose and amber this perfume is floral, sweet and just elegant. I love it and so would my mum.

Now Martins mum in particular is a huge fan of photographs around the house, we got her a few years back a nice frame with a family photo and it still hangs pride of place. She would love a collection of frames like this, especially if I sourced some photos and had them in there ready. Love gifts like this as they are so thoughtful.

Another spring accessory. I love scarf's, easy to wear and inject a lot in to whatever look you want, if you wear a plain coat or t shirt for example but add a neon scarf for summer or a dark red for winter I feel it really makes an outfit ‘season relevant’ with minimal effort. This one is so delicate and fresh for spring.

What are your ideas for mother’s day? Or yourself even?

  1. My mum doesn't like make up and skin care, or books, or anything! So I got her one of those signs that says "You have 2 choices for dinner, take it or leave it" haha.
